Statement by Martin “Tjet” Bergman, nwave head manager

“This should be my final statement working with nwave. I have been running this organisation, more or less by myself, since the summer of 2008. With the lack of sponsons and money, motivation starts to tear me down, and if I’m not motivated, I’m not doing a very good job. At the same time I find myself having less and less time over to spend on eSport and my teams.

I would personally want to thank ALL teams, both past and present, who represented us in some way. It’s been a fun ride, but everything has and end. A special shout out to our TF2 team who have been part of nwave for 10 long successful months. It was very fun to get to know you and I will follow your progress in the scene.

I will personally retire from gaming management but will remain interested in eSport and the gaming scenes.

“We’re glad we were given this chance by the management over at Northwave. We will work hard to proove our selfs at SEC and the upcoming lans. Ken ‘Hitty’ Sandnes have said that he will be folding cod4 after SEC by different reasons. So the original man for the job Jonas ‘Hulk’ Øien will be stepping in as fulltime AK at that time. I would like to thank Northwave & n1ping.com for making this possible.”

“So we are once again back with COD4 and it feels great. Over the past couple of weeks we have been receiving a big number of applys, from both well-known and unknown teams. With EMERGO attending SEC in the end of this month along with their scandinavian origin, we were naturally interested in picking them up. We hope they will have a great time in our organisation and hope they give it their best in Denmark.”

nwave.TF2 will be taking on the swedish/norwegian team Broder in ETF2L Division 2A. With the recent line-up changes, nwave are sure to put up a great defence towards Broders attacks. It will surley be an exciting match, so make sure you don’t miss out on the action. An STV will be provided.

In Esports Heaven: Western Digital Challenge nwave.CSS will be playing another game. After two matches won, they are up against the european team HYPNOTIQ in round 3. If they manage to win the game, they will directly after play versus either danish PENTIA or italian OX.Enermax. We will try to put up a Source TV server for you.

The very same night, our newly acquired Battlefield Bad Company 2 team will make their first appearance. The tournament is hosted by ESL, named Squad Rush Opening Cup (4v4). Over 200 teams will fight for the glory in this very first BC2 cup.

For the first time in our history we are pleased to announce the addition of a team within the Battlefield series -  Bad Company 2. Taking the place as our BC2 team will the former likes of Infernal Gamers. The team consist of eight dedicated gamers from United Kingdom aswell as Sweden. They are set to make their first appearance at the upcoming Multiplay i39 event in Newbury UK, next week.

“I’m very excited about this addition. BFBC2 is a brand new game with huge potential and we are very pleased to be a part of it. I’m confident this team will make a name for themselves in the scene and they are naturally aiming for a top position at i39.

“We are looking forward to playing with nwave, we have heard lots of good things about the organisation and we cant wait to start representing them in BC2.

Our team consists of a mix of UK and Swedish players, who together hope can perform well at i39 in April. We have recently joined the ESL Open BC2 cup which began on Sunday, and we are hoping for a first place finish.”

2010  looks to be another interesting year of esports.

Our newly acquired Counter-Strike team nwave.CS will participate in the upcoming qualification cup to Inferno Online League 2, taking place this sunday. This is the first of four qualification cups, starring 32 teams in each. The top eight teams will be qualified for the LAN finals held at Inferno Online in Stockholm. The final will be held in may with a prize pot of 50 000 SEK along with a invite to the Final4 event held at Dreamhack.

Our main news is about adding a brand new Counter-Strike team. The team consist of a bunch of experienced player from various gaming scenes, ready to give competitive CS a shot. The team will be seen at the upcoming Dreamhack Summer event.

“I am both happy and proud to announce such a fine team to our organisation. It’s been quite a while since the last time we had a team on the CS scene, and it’s about time we get back in.

This team, with player originated from such teams as fnatic.COD4 and excello.CSS/H2k.CSS, are sure to make an impact in CS, although some of them have been focusing on other games in the past their competetive drive should prove that they can reach the top level in Counter-Strike aswell. It’s going to be great fun to follow their progress in the upcoming months.”

“We are pleased to be part of the Northwave organisation. Since we started this lineup we were determend to attend as many lans as possible. With a great management behind us, we really hope that this will come true.
